SYNOPSIS: The novel unfolds the story of a young village girl, named Petronila, who struggles  with the challenges of a society oppressed by an iron-clad military dictatorship and who faces, firsthand, the consequences of the  “machismo” of her time. At times, she feels overwhelmed, like there will be no way to breach the fence that imprisons her… but she endures and eventually succeeds.  The novel, at times, blazes with daring erotic and sensual episodes. It’s narrative carries a coherent thread rounding a well-knit story, which traps the reader and does not let go until it reaches its end.
